Frequently Asked Questions

The answers in this FAQ also constitute our Terms and Conditions

1. What is Henna?

Henna is a natural reddish-brown dye made from the leaves of the tropical Henna shrub, abundant in the dry regions of India. It's unique, natural reddish-brown pigmentation on the skin makes Henna the perfect choice for temporary body art comprising of several styles and patterns

2. What is the significance of Henna?

Henna when applied on the body has a cooling effect- allievating tension, calming stress and bringing down excess body heat. It is perhaps this fact which has made Henna a permanent fixture in Indian weddings for centuries, busting the stress and relaxing the nerves of all those involved

3. What made us embrace Henna art?

The sheer passion and joy which comes from the creation of art and the invaluable smile on your face

4. What colors are available?

Since we work only with our own custom-made 100% organic henna cones, we have only the natural henna color of reddish-brown available

5. How long does the color last?

The color usually lasts for a week. The color will peak on the day after application, followed by slow fading over a week

6. What can I do to improve the longevity of the color?

Never peel the applied henna off too quickly. Leave the henna on the skin for at least half an hour, it will crumble by itself. Also, make sure it doesn’t come into contact with water for at least 4 hours. For added intensity, some leave it for up to 12 hours. It will turn an orange colour at first which will then deepen over a day because of the skin’s temperature. For a deeper and longer lasting color, you may also apply a solution of lemon juice and sugar on the applied henna once it has dried and almost begins to crumble

7. Does the color depth vary from person to person?

Absolutely. For organic henna, the color is dependent on the person's body heat and skin temperature. Also to ensure deeper color, care must be taken not to peel off the applied henna prematurely, and water exposure is to be avoided for at least for 4 hours. You may also apply a solution of lemon juice and sugar on the applied henna once it has dried and almost begins to crumble

8. How long does the henna application procedure take?

It depends on the length of application. For instance, for both palms- 4 sides, the application procedure takes approximately between 20 minutes to 30 minutes. For upto the elbow, both hands- 4 sides, the application procedure takes approximately between 45 minutes to 90 minutes

9. Can I get a black stain or glitter?

No. Unfortunately, these are chemical variants of henna which may cause skin irritation and infection. As we work with 100% organic henna cones, we offer only the standard natural reddish-brown color

10. Can I bring my own henna cones?

No. Most cones in the market contain chemicals which may cause skin irritation and infection. As we value quality and customer well-being, we will not work with any cones other than our own custom-made, 100% organic henna cones

11. Do you do provide home services?

Usually, we don't provide home services. However, if the date, time, location and order value is amenable to us, we may consider providing home services at our discretion

12. Can I simply walk-in or do I need an appointment?

We strongly recommend booking an appointment in advance, as we cannot guarantee availablility for walk-in customers

13. Are the prices negotiable?

No, the prices are fixed. The prices are the best possible while ensuring top quality art, materials and customer service

14. Are there any conditions in which the prices may vary?
